அரியும் அல்ல அயனும் அல்ல அப்புறத்தில் அப்புறம்

கருமை செம்மை வெண்மையைக் கடந்து நின்ற காரணம்

பெரியதல்ல சிறியதல்ல பற்றுமின்கள் பற்றுமின்கள்

துரியமும் கடந்து நின்ற தூரதூர தூரமே

Not Vishnu, not Siva, it lies far beyond

The reason* for passing and resting beyond the dark, the red and the white

Not big, not small, brilliant flashing lights

Even after going beyond the crown of the head, it is still far, very far

* The reason is God-self. Jivaatma (the soul) leaves the body and reaches the parmaatma (the parabrahmam or the God).
