Adhavan (1): An Introduction

About Adhavan

Indomitable human passion is driving me to write more and more and this inclination has finally led me to draft my first novel. First draft of each chapter will be published every week, followed by an illustration that portrays the gist of the chapter in beautiful strokes, by god's own mighty weapon—the same human hands, that created swords and pens. In saying so I need to find the chisel, sculpture out the hidden beauty I see in the raw granite block, just picked out fresh for me, by a massive hand and that still smells of lovely nature. Drafts and illustration will be forged splendidly into an artistic novel in later stages, which then will flow without inhibitions, set to take on the plains, reach the unending ocean.

The novel draws its inspiration from the ways and life of siddhars, south Indian mystics, those have accomplished complete spiritual transformation and have mastered ashtama siddhis. The stage set for the novel dates back to the period 600 BC-200 BC, excerpts are gathered from various sources, either by hearsay, or by close personal observations and extensive readings, delicately woven with imaginations, to present the readers with an awe-inspiring, heart-stirring novel. Additional, diligent care should be taken, not to confuse with the fictitious characters portrayed in the Novel, either with the living ones or the dead.

The divine experiences elucidated in this novel are based on my own spiritual experiences and those that I specifically had with my Guru, Siddhar Ayya Pillai, in full realization, in full awakening, that which can't either be associated or classified as dreams, hallucinations and illusions, to be precise, the experiences are not happenings that neither occurred during a sleep nor during a trance, which can also be induced by Black magics and Occult arts, rather, all the spiritual experiences denoted in this novel are experienced by me in full awareness, leave alone the siddhis, the unaccounted ones. Purely, for the purpose of enjoyability, clarity, readability, understandability, the experiences have been distributed across various characters personified in this novel... nothing else, nothing more, hope you will all enjoy reading it... Still, if someone has some hitches, do approach me directly, to get the right answers from the right person. I would much appreciate it.

Translation

Beings! You didn't know the difference between siddhars and the little ones
When Siddhar was here, you will think of them as lunatic
Siddhar was here, you stated “What a lunatic he is?”
For them, both God’s land and this land are one and the same.
—Siddhar Sivavakkiyar Song (506)

On Counting—(COUNT functions in MS EXCEL)

Question:

How to count total number of Black balls made in China?

Answer:

Prerequisite:

  1. Create  a new excel file.
  2. Identify the attributes of the ball like colour, unique id, maker, weight, density, material etc.
  3. Take a ball enter it's id in the first column followed by it's attributes in the specific columns.

Effective Communication (4)

Let me conclude blogs on “Effective Communication”. Irrespective of content type (audio, video and readable text), there are three types of effective communications as follows:
  1. Know Thyself: The form wherein huge information is forged into a nut-shell. Ex: Condensing 1000 pages of thesis into one paragraph of abstract.
  2. Daffodils: Expression of passion spontaneously in a flush. Ex: Poems.
  3. Apple is Red: Simple form that expresses the idea in a very simple manner. Ex: I Love You.

Bliss (2)

It was a pleasant evening there wasn’t much work to do, but then there was a sudden impulse to visit Mundakaniamman temple at Mylapore, Chennai, India. Though born and brought up as a Roman Catholic, I got well acquainted with other religious perspectives during my college days, where my inner quest challenged all belief systems. I started seeing divinity everywhere irrespective of creed, colour and race. My quest unbound took me to great leaps. In fact, my first Jyoti darshan is of her somewhere in 2007. From that day I use to frequent her to pay my reverence and gratitude.
Even before I entered the temple, I felt a strong current encompassing me. I stopped near the entrance, leaned over the wall and started looking inside myself. Light spasms of joy started building in my heart. Something deep inside me was touched and was alighted with bliss. Only then she allowed me to enter her humble abode.
St Teresa in Spiritual Ecstasy
There I took a spot to her right, leaned over the hundi, placed my helmet down and let myself mix with a beautiful, clear, divine voice drifting in the mid-air. The voice belonged to an old lady seated on the floor, to my right, facing the entrance. The voice was mesmerizing she drew it up somewhere deep within her and it reverberated like a tensed cord. I would say she was connected to the divineness in itself. The songs lured me further into myself. The being inside me was set ablaze and it was taking me higher and higher and I almost crossed the point of losing myself to the divinity. That too when she drew the words “Samboo Mahadeva” I was not able to hold the bliss anymore in my heart. It was an ecstatic moment. Beneath the skin, something inside me was trickling upwards and leaving this mortal body. She again drew the word “Samboo Mahadeva” in a high pitch, I finally said no more and left the spot half-heartedly in reluctance.
I thanked both the deity and the lady from the bottom of my hearts for forcing me into such a blissful evening. I was just awaiting some situation whereby I can pay my gratitude to that old lady. The opportunity didn’t turn up so I decided to leave and stepped out of the temple. The old lady was standing before my bike and asked me if I could drop her in the bus stop, which I did to my heart’s content.

Effective Communication (3)

Break complex pieces into simple fragments and express them in simple terms. This to be applied based on the need of the situation and demand of the subject. A few days before I was observing a child listening to nursery rhymes over a smart phone. The concept is clear and simple. “Apple is Red”. It is a visual treat for the child. The audio is of good clarity and the text is of simple nature. All said in three words. There wasn't any complex thought process required in deciphering the meaning of the three words. It was simple to an extent the child was able to utter “Red” the moment a red apple appeared on the screen.

Example: I love you or heart symbol as you see in the below image.

Radical Thinking (1)

Statement:

Mind is provoked, intrigued and influenced by five physical senses sound, sight, touch, smell and taste.

Questionnaire:

  1. Is there something more than these five elements?
  2. If so how does it intrigue the mind?
  3. First of all what is mind?
  4. How do you know that there is something more than these senses?
  5. Have you ever heard it, seen it, touch it, smell it or taste it?
  6. What is it? Where does it go store or retrieve the information?
  7. Does mind physically exist? Or is it an uncontrollable elusive virtual beast?
  8. What happens when you have shut all these five senses?—Have you tried it sincerely?
  9. Even if you shut off your senses, do you actually shut off your mind even if it is some entity universally agreed as existing phenomena (Once upon a time, even world was agreed to be flat)?
  10. Have you ever put your mind to rest?
  11. What happens then? Have you ever sensed something beyond that?—Asking you again have you ever tried it sincerely?
  12. Is the human being just a biological machine with a CPU called brain?
  13. Are you going to name the unknown as god just because you are conditioned by your holy books and scriptures? Else are you going to stop questioning, since science, evolutionary principles and natural selection can’t probe any further? Don’t you want to actually drill down, probe and test it on yourself? Can science exactly replicate a mutation today with all possible knowledge it possesses?
  14. Can we be honest to ourselves? Are we trying hide ourselves behind the comforting words of scriptures; soothing words of your beloveds; logically understandable words of science?—Have you ever sought it? Have you ever looked for it within yourself? Have you ever felt the need to seek?
  15. Love is love; truth is truth; peace is peace why we associate these ethical values to God?—Is it because we assume that god is all good? Don’t you think that our assumptions may actually hamper us?
  16. Why do we have so many assumptions about god? On the first hand why should we name it god?
  17. What is it?

Bliss (1)

Soft notes of music drift mildly over green pastures and they tap your heart pleadingly to open and let them in. The sensitive touches of the note struck by the player forces open the door and lets your spirit cry in spasms of joy, leap out and dance with the divine notes in god’s space. You keep aching for it more and more. Your spirit is in tune with the notes being played it raises and falls with the music; entwined in a fluid embrace; the dance goes on and on till every muscle in your heart is ripped open with heavenly bliss.

Transcendence (1)

Moments started to linger and mend with the backdrop; stillness started creeping inside from the burrows of the unknown planes. As time passed by, even the whirling sound of the fan is of greater annoyance—to an extent it needed to be immediately switched off. Might be this love of silence, paradoxically loved the sweet humming and ringing in the ears, and lured my mind into an irresistible spell—the trance.
Every breath I took in from that moment gave me immense pleasure; the vibrations grew stronger; my whole body was quivering with uncontrollable pleasure; that I actually started moaning inside. Further, as I dived deeper, much deeper, vortex of light engulfed me and carried me into the higher planes of consciousness. I found myself in some other part of the world.
I was in matsyasana. Water was everywhere around me or I would say I was immersed in the water. It was an ocean bed. Group of females were chanting in a very sweet clear voice, they were pouring anointed water on my navel in a slow rhythmic manner and I was engrossed in their lullabies and reverence.
In the distant part of the room, my mobile phone was ringing, but my body was stiff and cold. Vibrations were of greater multitude. It was very difficult for me to even move a finger, leave alone withstanding the force of vibrations and standing up erect and tight. It took few seconds for me to come out of the state and from the matsyasana I was thrown into.
Then I gathered myself up, moved around the room, found my mobile phone resting placidly on an outdated portable television set that I stopped using for the purpose it was given to me rather as a stand for holding my mobile phone while it was getting charged.
I attended the phone call with complete indifference to the context that was discussed, since part of my being was intricately entwined with beings in some other part of the world. I hang up, brooded over the experience, and took a short nap before all my senses were attuned to the physical realms I was in.
Though, I have experienced many such spirit transcendence, I can't help wondering at the delicacy with which each one us has been created and nurtured by the sacred being, the possibilities that we are capable of, the heights that we can attain and the positive transformation we can bring to this society.

Effective Communication (2)

The seed of passion dormant within each one of us, on onset of altogether sudden collision sprouts out to take a form of its choice and paints itself in all colors and magnificence to its utmost satisfaction. This carnival sucking pleasure of expression flowing turbulently is the form of communication suited for poetry and eloquences. It connects with people and infuses itself onto subjects; possesses them; shakes them to the core—whatever might the form of expression be....

Effective Communication (1)

For to clearly and precisely express a thought, one has to really sink into the core of its meaning and fish out the right set of words that will exactly present the thought being addressed, if done so one will land upon meagre few words that can explain the context with utmost clarity. The stated task is a neck breaking mental drill as it is a forging of a wrought thought into a yet beautiful strong sharp supple samurai sword (Thought)
