O Mystic1! Is it
Intelligence*? Is it thought? Is it soul?
Is it energy? Is it bliss2?
Is it the one that can’t be subjected to discrimination3?
Is it final salvation4?
Is it source? Is it basic mantras?
In the non-existent5
path6, point it out—what is it?
—Siddhar Sivavakkiyar Hymn (043)
* Here, it also has a meaning of consciousness as well.
1 With respect to the context,
siddhar sivavakiyar is questioning one another siddhar (South Indian Mystic).
2 More than the deity, it
is the bliss that is being questioned here.
3 What is being questioned
can’t be categorized into any specific community, creed, nation, and such
segregations.
4 The final merging with
the parabrahmam, the source, the God.
5 Since it is can’t be sensed by human eyes, it is explained as non-existent.
6 Here it means the path
of light; the path to the source from the source within.
