Siddhar Sivavakkiyar Hymn (039)

வாயிலே குடித்தநீரை எச்சில்என்று சொல்லுறீர்

வாயிலே குதப்புவேத மெனப்படக் கடவதோ

வாயில் எச்சில் போகஎன்று நீர்தனைக் குடிப்பீர்காள்

வாயில்எச்சில் போனவண்ணம் வந்திருந்து சொல்லுமே.

The water had through the mouth, you call it spittle.

Can the chaw in the mouth be called as Veda?

To free the mouth from the spittle, you drink water.

The spittle in the mouth, the way it got flushed in, will come, and speak for itself¹.

¹ The things we despise and consider as unholy are part and parcel of our own body, so in truth all that we call as unclean, remains well within the body, the adobe of the God-Self. In a few more songs, Siddhar Sivavakkiyar says that the body contains all excretory items within, so by, the unclean body with its excretory items such as urine, fecal matter, menses, etc. still remains to be an adobe of God—holding well within, the God-self, along with flesh and blood.
