—சித்தர் சிவவாக்கியர் பாடல் (040)
The vedas
recited are spittle* the mantras in it are spittle*
That,
that has become food is spittle* all seven worlds of the body1 are
spittle*
The
semen that stayed in the womb is spittle*; the moon2 is spittle*; the
voice is spittle*
In which
there isn’t spittle*? None! None! None! There isn’t!
—Siddhar
Sivavakkiyar Hymn (040)
* Here
in this song, Siddhar Sivavakiyar stresses on the point, that there isn’t
anything in this world that is pure, or in other words there isn’t anything impure
at all. The common sense he advocates here is, either everything is impure, or everything
is pure, in such cases, whatever that has been earlier considered as impure is
actually pure.
1 Seven worlds can be attributed to the seven energy centers that makes
the human body.
2 Here it could be considered as the energy center behind the left eye
through which the chandrakalai (the flow of energy by the left nostril) flows—The
one associated with water and coldness.
