Siddhar Sivavakkiyar Hymns (002)

The space and the self are within those five letters
The foremost trinity* are within those five letters
Sounds ‘Am’ and ‘Um’ are within those five letters
Desired to attain samadhi*** within those five letters
—Siddhar Sivavakkiyar Hymn (002)

* Ravi, mathi, sudar (Ravi---The flow in the idaikalai or suryakalai or the right nostril, Mathi---The flow in the pinkalai or chandrakalai or the left nostril, Sudar---The divine inner lamp or the prana vayu or the sublimed vasi**) were there from the origin days. Since Siddhar Sivavakkiyar has disclaimed by the presence of Siva and Vishnu in the verse 009, the trinity here should not be considered as them, and this verse is talking about samadhi, hence the trinity here could only mean, Ravi, mathi, and sudar. The same trio has been mentioned by both Siddhar Agastiyar as well as Siddhar Kakabhujander.

** Vasi-Crystallized, sublimed state of breathe, wherein the prana takes the form of the lamp.

*** The 'samadhi' here means the state where consciousness rest**** upon the invisible chord created by chanting those five letters.

**** The rest here should considered similar to the 'rest' in RIP (rest in peace) not that of foot rest.
